All Out for our first bargaining session 2-15-23!
This is it! The time has finally come for us to begin negotiations and fight for the contract that we deserve.
When are we bargaining?
This Wednesday, our Bargaining Committee will be meeting with Brown’s administration to begin bargaining our next contract. This will be the first of many meetings in which we bargain over our salaries, healthcare, and working conditions.
Join your fellow grads for:
Open Bargaining Kick-off Rally: 11:15AM on the Main Green
First Bargaining Session with Admin: 12:00PM in the Kasper Multipurpose Room (inside Stephen Robert Center)
What are we bargaining for?
After hundreds of conversations between grad workers, GLO’s Bargaining Committee put together our bargaining platform on the principles of accessibility, fair compensation, and equity.
We're bargaining for
Support for international grads, grads with children and other dependents, and grads who don’t come from intergenerational wealth
Enforceable protections against discrimination
More robust healthcare and COVID-19 protections
What will bargaining look like?
The Bargaining Committee has told Brown GLO is committed to open bargaining. This means that negotiation sessions are open for all workers covered by the contract to observe. Although admin remains opposed to open bargaining, they've agreed to hold bargaining in a space with sufficient room for any grad who wants to observe.
It also means that YOU and your coworkers need to be there. We need a strong turnout to prove we're serious about winning the contract we deserve!
If you’re not a GLO member yet, join GLO here! Our union is all of us, and our voice at work depends on our being united.
In solidarity,
Elizabeth Berman, GLO Bargaining Committee
Harper Shalloe, GLO Treasurer
